Beautiful portraits for little imaginations
A little bit of wonder. A little bit of imagination. And your child, exactly as they are.
Little Dreamers is a creative children’s portrait experience by Lightframe Photography, designed around the little worlds that exist inside a child’s imagination.
A lantern glowing between the trees. An old book discovered beneath the canopy. A favourite teddy carried along on an afternoon adventure. Warm light filtering through the forest as a child wanders, explores and gets lost in their own little story.
These aren’t elaborate fantasy scenes or heavily constructed sets.
They’re real moments, real environments and real children – thoughtfully brought together with beautiful light, carefully chosen props and a subtle touch of imagination.
The child doesn’t have to perform the magic. The photograph should make you imagine it.
What is Little Dreamers?

Children have an incredible ability to turn ordinary places into something extraordinary.
A forest becomes an enchanted woodland. An old book becomes the beginning of an adventure. A lantern becomes something to guide them into the unknown.
Little Dreamers takes that natural sense of wonder and builds a photography experience around it.
Each session is thoughtfully styled around your child, their personality and the kind of little world that captures their imagination.
The result sits somewhere between children’s portrait photography, lifestyle photography and visual storytelling.
The photographs are artistic and atmospheric, but your child remains at the centre of everything.
There are no elaborate costumes or digitally created fantasy worlds. Instead, we use the things already around us – beautiful Adelaide landscapes, natural light, thoughtful styling and a few carefully chosen details – to create photographs that feel like they belong inside a storybook.
Little Dreamers – Children’s Photo Experience
A little bit of wonder. A little bit of imagination. And your child, exactly as they are. A 30–40 minute creative portrait experience designed around your child and their own little world.
Real childhood. A little imagination. Beautifully photographed.
At the heart of every Little Dreamers session is something very real.
Your child.
They don’t need to sit perfectly still, smile on command or know how to pose for the camera.
Instead, they can explore.
They can read.
They can hold their favourite toy.
They can wander between the trees, investigate something interesting or simply settle into their own little world.
I’ll provide gentle direction when needed, but much of the magic comes from giving children the freedom to behave naturally.
The creative elements are there to give their imagination somewhere to go.
Real child
Their personality, curiosity and natural expressions are more important than a perfect pose.
Real environment
Forests, grasslands, gardens and other beautiful outdoor locations become part of the story.
Beautiful light
Natural light creates the warmth, atmosphere and depth that make the photographs feel timeless.
Thoughtful props
Books, lanterns, blankets, teddy bears and other carefully selected details help create the feeling of a story without overwhelming it.
A subtle touch of magic
The magic is suggested rather than digitally manufactured. A glow through the trees. Dust catching the lantern light. An old book resting in the grass.
Just enough to make you wonder.
Choose your little world
Every child has their own imagination, so Little Dreamers isn’t limited to one particular look.
Together, we can choose a creative direction that feels right for your child.
The Little Dreamer
Soft, dreamy and natural.
Gentle light, beautiful surroundings and a focus on your child’s personality and imagination. This is the most open-ended of the Little Dreamers concepts – less about a particular story and more about capturing the feeling of childhood itself.
The Story Keeper
For the children who love books and getting lost in a story.
Think old books, blankets, quiet corners of the forest and moments of peaceful imagination. There’s something timeless about a child completely absorbed in a story of their own.
The Lantern Light
A little more atmospheric.
As the light begins to soften, a lantern becomes the centre of the story. Warm glowing light, woodland surroundings and subtle details create photographs with a sense of mystery and wonder.
The Woodland Friend
Earthy, natural and full of character.
Teddy bears, woodland textures, leaves, trees and natural surroundings come together to create a little world where your child’s favourite companion can join the adventure.
The Little Explorer
For curious children who would rather discover than sit still.
Walking, wandering, searching, climbing and exploring become part of the photographs. The environment becomes their playground, and their curiosity becomes part of the story.
Don’t see a theme that feels like your child?
That’s completely fine.
We can create something around their own little world – perhaps a favourite book, toy, interest or idea that means something to them.
A photoshoot that doesn’t feel like a photoshoot
Children aren’t always interested in standing still for a camera.
And they shouldn’t have to be.
Little Dreamers sessions are designed to give children something to do, somewhere to explore and something to become absorbed in.
Rather than constantly asking them to look at the camera, we’ll let the environment and the story guide what happens.
There might be a little direction.
There might be some gentle posing.
But there will also be plenty of moments where your child simply forgets the camera is there.
Those are often the photographs that become the favourites.
A quiet expression while turning the pages of an old book.
The excitement of discovering something beneath the trees.
A little hand wrapped around a lantern.

The way they hold their favourite teddy.
A glance back towards you.
The photographs don’t need to show a child performing for the camera.
They can simply show a child being a child.
Photographs that feel like little stories
The aim isn’t to create photographs that look like fantasy illustrations.
It’s to create photographs that make you feel as though there is a story behind them.
You might look at an image of your daughter lying beneath the trees with an old book and wonder what she’s reading.
You might see your son walking through the woodland with a glowing lantern and imagine where he’s going.
You might notice the tiny details – the warm light, the dust floating through the air, the texture of an old book or the way your child’s expression changes as they become absorbed in the moment.
Those details are what give the photographs their atmosphere.
And years from now, they can become more than portraits.
They can become little fragments of childhood.
Who is Little Dreamers for?
Little Dreamers is designed primarily for children around 2–10 years old, although the concept can be adapted for children outside that range depending on their personality and the creative idea.
It’s particularly suited to children who are:
- Curious and imaginative
- Quiet and observant
- Energetic and adventurous
- Drawn to books and stories
- Attached to a favourite toy or teddy
- Happiest when they’re exploring outdoors
- A little shy in front of a camera
- Full of personality and difficult to keep still
Your child doesn’t need to be naturally confident in front of a camera.
In fact, some of the most beautiful photographs can come from children who aren’t.
The goal isn’t to change who they are for the photographs.
It’s to create a little environment where who they already are can come through.
Why Little Dreamers?
There are plenty of ways to photograph children.
Little Dreamers is for parents who want something a little different from conventional children’s portraits.
Something artistic, but still natural.
Something creative, but not artificial.
Something beautifully styled, without becoming overly staged.
The experience brings together the things that matter most in good children’s photography – connection, personality, light, environment and genuine expression and adds just enough creative direction to make the photographs feel like they belong to a story.
It’s children’s portrait photography with a little more imagination.
Your child’s little world
The best creative ideas often come from the things your child already loves.
Perhaps they have a favourite story.
Maybe there’s a teddy they take everywhere.
Maybe they’re fascinated by forests, adventures, fairies, explorers, animals or discovering hidden things.
Those little interests can become the starting point for their session.
You don’t need to arrive with a fully formed idea.
I’ll help shape the concept, choose the setting and work out the details so that everything feels cohesive without becoming overproduced.
The finished photographs should still feel like Lightframe Photography – natural, warm, emotional and beautifully connected to the environment.
Just with a little more imagination.

Little Dreamers FAQ
What age is Little Dreamers suitable for?
Little Dreamers is primarily designed for children between approximately 2 and 10 years old, although older or younger children may also be suitable depending on the concept.
Where do Little Dreamers sessions take place?
Sessions are generally photographed in beautiful outdoor environments around Adelaide. The location will depend on the creative concept, season and the type of atmosphere we’re looking to create.
Does my child need to wear a costume?
No.
Little Dreamers isn’t costume or fantasy photography. Clothing is kept natural and thoughtfully chosen to complement the environment and creative direction.
Can we choose our own theme?
Absolutely.
The themes on this page are starting points. If your child has a favourite book, toy, interest or idea, we can use that as inspiration for their own little world.
What if my child is shy?
That’s completely okay.
The session isn’t built around asking children to perform for the camera. I’ll give them time to settle in, explore their surroundings and become comfortable. Gentle direction and natural interaction help create genuine expressions without forcing them.
Can siblings be included?
Yes. Siblings can be incorporated where they fit naturally within the creative concept. I can also capture individual portraits of each child during the session.
Can parents be included?
Little Dreamers is primarily a children’s portrait experience, but parents can certainly be included in some photographs if you’d like to create a few images together.
What should my child wear?
Clothing should complement the environment and suit the creative direction. Natural textures and earthy, muted or timeless colours often work beautifully, but I’ll provide guidance when we plan your session.
Can we bring my child’s favourite toy?
Absolutely.
A favourite teddy, book or other meaningful object can be a wonderful part of the story. In many cases, these personal details are what make a Little Dreamers session uniquely theirs.
How long does a session take?
30 to 40 minutes. The pace is relaxed and allows time for children to explore, settle in and become comfortable with the environment rather than rushing from one pose to the next.
Let’s create their little story.
Childhood is full of little worlds that adults eventually stop seeing.
The games they invent.
The stories they create.
The things they carry everywhere.
The places they turn into adventures.
Little Dreamers is about capturing a little piece of that world while they’re still living in it.
Real childhood. Beautifully photographed. With just a little bit of magic.
